A Mayor for All of Westwood
All of Westwood should have a seat at the table.  Our long-time residents; our young families; our aging-in-place residents; those of us east of Rainbow and those of us west of Rainbow; and our new neighbors in Woodside Village.  Our businesses, our churches, our schools, and our healthcare institutions.  I am independent-minded, and through my service and volunteer experience with Westwood and Northeast Johnson County, I have proven to be an open, thoughtful, and receptive leader.  Westwood needs people who hear and care about all voices and perspectives, and who will work to unify and bring our entire City together, regardless of age, class, needs, or location within the City.  I commit to ensuring that opportunities for engagement with, and service for, our City are open to all.

A Government that is Accountable
Westwood must continue to ensure that we have a properly-balanced base of revenue, among property taxes, sales taxes, franchise fees, service fees, and the like, in order to ensure that we can continue to provide the services and amenities our residents expect.  That includes a strong police department, reliable public works and infrastructure, and improved code enforcement.  Our City's investments should be targeted to building and maintaining sustainable neighborhoods, a strong business community, and our neighborhood schools.

A Westwood that is Moving Forward
Westwood has many unique opportunities ahead of it, and it is time to move forward and seize them for our community.  The redevelopment of Westwood View Elementary and the former Entercom property; expansion and updating of our Dennis Park; street improvements on 47th Street, including traffic-calming measures and designs for multi-modal transportation such as busing, bike lanes, and widened sidewalks; the provision of affordable housing, especially for our aging-in-place population; and continued revitalization of our commercial corridors.  Planning for these opportunities requires knowledge of the issues, an understanding of the big picture, and an appreciation for the impacts on our residents, businesses, City finances, and City services.  I have the right experience and expertise to help lead the City of Westwood in these efforts.
